Boys Hoops Team Earns First Win

dsc_4759Freshman A.J. Davis, bombing from the outside, had 26 points to lead the Oaks on a second-half comeback and secure new coach Junior Burrough’s first win at home Tuesday over Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, 67-57.

Senior Kile McNair chipped in with 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Oaks. Jakeim Robertson added a dozen points.

Townes Leads Boys to Win

bash2 - CopyBig Man Bash came through in a big way for the Oaks, scoring a game-high 35 points and pulling down 12 rebounds as the team defeated Atlantic Shores Christian School, 76-61, Friday afternoon.

Fellow seniors Kyonze Chavis with 12 points and Adam Gran with 11 points were also in double figures. Junior Kile McNair had another strong game with 11 points.

Chavis grabbed a rebound and scored while being fouled for a key three-point play with two minutes left. Then the Oaks made their foul shots in the closing seconds to win going away.
