Girls Fall in Semifinal
The Oaks girls soccer team just couldn’t solve the Norfolk Academy defense this season. They were unable to score in three games and Friday in Richmond that meant they lost, 1-0, in the Division I state semifinal.
The team ended the season 16-4. Senior Cameron Brown, who is headed to Brown University to play soccer, was named TCIS Player of the Year.
Molly Beegle, Sarah Smallets, Ashby Larkin and Shelby Hall were also named to the team.
The Oaks have advanced to at least the state semifinal game in the last four years.
In 2014, they won the state title. In 2015 and 2017, they lost in the semifinal. And in 2016, they were runner-up to St. Catherine’s School.
