Soccer Team Wins; Defends TCIS Title on Friday

DSC_1740Alexis McGurn saved a penalty kick and a second shot off the rebound and, two minutes later, Timeri Jordan volleyed a cross from Sarah Smith into the back of the net and the Oaks downed Bishop Sullivan Catholic, 2-1, Wednesday to advance to the TCIS title game.

Jordan’s goal came with five minutes left and the Oaks ran out the clock with the ball in the opponents’ corner.

Sarah Smith scored the first goal, one of many chances for Collegiate.

The team plays Hampton Roads Academy at the ODU Soccer Stadium on Friday for its second consecutive TCIS crown.
