The trio of Malia Mantz (22:40), Claudia King (22:43) and Maddie Foster (23:31), who finished 43rd, 45th an 65th respectively in the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) race, led the way once again for the girls.

Malia Claudia StateEmma Stephenson, Ashley Obermeyer and Cecilia Innis all proved instrumental in the team’s 15th-place finish, all three running personal bests over the tough, sometimes muddy course.

“They tore it up,” said Tupper, who was assisted all season by Coach Loli Marshall and Coach Richard White “Malia, Maddie, Claudia, Cecilia ran like they’ve been doing it all year. And Emma and Ashley stepped up and did a great job.

“I’m very proud of the whole team. They worked so hard, did everything we asked of them.
