The Night Lights Show Opens on Friday

The lights go up on what will be the longest-running smash on Suburban Parkway starting Friday as Norfolk Collegiate opens its turf fields with a pair of contests.

You can’t have a grand opening without a little ribbon cutting. That begins at 6:30 p.m.

Don’t wait until then for Oak action. The girls volleyball team plays in Watt-Baker Gymnasium starting at 5:15 p.m.

The outside games on the turf fields start at 7 p.m. with girls field hockey battling Highland School and the boys soccer team kicking things off against Norfolk Christian School. The boys downed Christian, 2-1, earlier in the season.

There’s no need to eat at home and risk being late. It’s Food Truck Friday at Collegiate. Karnage Asada, Bodacious Pizza and Just Cupcakes will be on hand to dole out their goodies. Eat some Karnage Asada Latin-Asian Smackdown! goodies on plastic plates while the Oaks take care of the smackdown on the plastic grass.

Bring cash. Lots of cash for the food and for the souvenirs and for the fields.

Cough up a little of that cash towards the project, which cost a cool $2.6 million. If you would like to donate to the campaign, please contact the development office at 757.480.2348 or development@norfolkcollegiate.org.
