Hitters Slay Christian in Last At Bat

DSC_9801Sophomore Ian Baskins lined a single with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Jack McCaffrey from third base as the Oaks defeated Norfolk Christian, 7-6, at their home Azalea complex on Tuesday.

Dylan Cheek started on the mound and went four strong innings for Collegiate before he was relieved by Chandler Gillikin, who earned the win.

Reid Wilkinson and Blake Cummings each had a pair of hits for the winners and Hunter Flora drove in key runs.

The win was the team’s second in as many days. On Monday, Collegiate  defeated Norview High School, 14-8. Hunter Flora was a double threat for the Oaks, driving in three runs with a pair of doubles and a single. He also got the win on the mound, his first.
