Girls Win, Secure Tourney Slot

DSC_5477On Senior Night, senior Jessie Cavolt had her best game of the season, bombing away from outside for 17 points as the Oaks downed Hampton Roads Academy, 50-37, Friday night.

The girls, with two conference wins, will play an away game Tuesday in the opening round of the TCIS Tournament.

Cavolt and fellow senior Peyton Fancher were honored before the game.

The Oaks led throughout, playing one of their strongest games of the season, buoyed by the recent return of junior post player Shahra Madison. Madison popped for 14, but it was Cavolt’s sharp-shooting from behind the three-point line that kept the Oaks in front.
