Both teams started the game with torrid outside shooting, but it was Norfolk Collegiate’s inside dominance that sealed a 76-67 win Friday over Greenbrier Christian Academy.

Bash Townes, Marcus Anderson, and Kyonze Chavis were the co-chairmen of the boards, controlling the paint, getting one rebound after another.

The Oaks stormed to a 9-0 lead on three bombs before Greenbrier Christian pushed back to go ahead 28-20. Adam Grant and Mark Madison were hot from the outside for the Oaks, who recovered to lead at the half.

DSC_5140Down the stretch in the second half, the Oaks had one second chance opportunity on the other thanks to their hard work on the boards.
Townes finished with 22 points and a dozen rebounds. Marcus Anderson scored 13 points and pulled down 11 boards. And Grant had another all-around game with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

The Oaks, now 19-4 and ranked third in the region, play at Norfolk Christian on Tuesday, then return for the final home game against Hampton Roads Academy on Friday.
