Tuesday: Time to Train the ‘dogs

DSC_5024Rivalry day is here.

Four Oaks varsity teams play the ‘dogs from Norfolk Academy on Tuesday.

The festivities start with the young baseball team at Norfolk Academy at 4:30, joining the boys and girls lacrosse teams, which also have 4:30 games on the fields off Northampton Boulevard.

The girls lacrosse game is a showdown between the undefeated Oaks, ranked number one in Division II in Virginia, and Norfolk Academy, ranked number 8 in Division I. (lower enrollment figures mean the Oaks are competing in Division II instead of last spring’s Division I).

Across town is another marquee matchup, the 7 p.m. game at the ODU Soccer Stadium on 43rd Street featuring the Oaks girls soccer team, number two in Division II, against perennial power Norfolk Academy, ranked number five in Division I.

It’s Blue and White Night at the ODU field so wear your colors and bring your loud outdoor voice. The girls’ team tied defending Division I state champs St. Catherine’s on Friday.
