Top-ranked Girls Lacrosse Team Downs Maury

DSC_5482Senior Virginia Marshall scored five goals as the undefeated and top-ranked girls lacrosse team defeated Maury High School, 14-6, Friday at Powhatan Field.

The team is 5-0 and ranked number one in the state in Division II.

Junior Peyton Fancher scored four goals in the win while senior Mary Elizabeth Corliss and sophomore Jordan Sibley added a pair each. Senior Kristin Rempas rounded out the scoring.

“Our season is off to a fantastic start at 5-0. We have a couple of tough games coming up, but we are ready,” head coach Lindsey Belle said. “Everyone has been working really hard at practice and we have high hopes for a successful season this year.”

The team plays a big game Tuesday at Norfolk Academy followed by a game Friday at Cape Henry Collegiate.
