Madison’s Bomb Fells Titans

DSC_2858Down by eight in the third quarter, the resilient Oaks stormed back to take the lead with 11 seconds left on Mark Madison’s three-point bomb and defeat Trinity Episcopal, 70-67, Friday in Richmond.

Madison, who has been hot from long range all season, finished with seven points. He led a Collegiate barrage from behind the bonus stripe. Adam Grant, who finished with 19 points, poured in five three-pointers while Kyonze Chavis, who finished with ten points, had a pair of bombs.

Bash Townes led the Oaks, ranked 12th overall in the state, with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Townes made two free throws with 1.8 seconds left to ice the win.

Trinity entered the game ranked eighth in the state in Division I while the Oaks were third in Division II. Norfolk Collegiate is now 18-1 on the season.
