Volleyball Team Falls in Richmond

DSCN0451The girls varsity volleyball team dropped a pair of games Saturday at the Steward Invitational in Richmond.

They fell to North Cross in three sets, 15-25, 21-25, and 21-25. In the consolation game against Christchurch, the team lost in three sets, 18-25, 19-25, and 17-25.

Coach Diego Fama cited the play of senior Brianna Mitchell, who is thriving in a new position, middle blocker. “She was the Oaks MVP for the tournament. She served well, passed very well, and had several blocks,” he said.

Junior Alexandra Cook also had a strong tournament, serving well, scoring four aces on the day.

The team plays at Churchland on Tuesday.
