Six Second Half Goals Drive Girls’ Win
After a first half during which they were unable to finish numerous scoring opportunities, the Oaks girls soccer team broke a 1-1 tie with a barrage of second-half goals Thursday at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy.
Cameron Brown had another hat trick for Collegiate, scoring three times in the second half. Virginia Sanford scored two goals, one in each half including a beautiful header, and Ann Burns Morrison and keeper Jessie Cavolt, who played the final ten minutes at striker, each added a goal.
The win raised the team’s record to 9-5-1 on the season. For a slideshow of pictures from the season, go to Oaks Girls Soccer.
