JV Boys Hoops Team Finds Footing

After a slow start, the JV boys basketball has found its stride, winning four of the last five games including a two-point triumph Thursday over Nansemond-Suffolk Academy.

Earlier in the week, the Oaks defeated Greenbrier Christian 52-44.

The team also defeated Peninsula Catholic 48-39 and Tidewater Academy 44-36 in recent games.

For the Oaks, sophomores Jack McCaffrey and Trey Ritter have led the scoring, while freshman Jimmy Hurley and eighth grader Joey Swartz have handled distributing the ball. On the boards, doing the blue collar work underneath have been Paul Mahoney and Stepenson Heretik.
