Oaks Down Down Under Visitors

DSC_4001The streaking Oaks, priming for Saturday’s Treehouse Showdown with Norfolk Academy, ran past, over, and through the visiting Frankston Australia team 63-46 Thursday night at home.

It was a case of the old and the new with Seniors Teddy Rich and Brandon Self along with freshman Bash Townes tallying double doubles. Each had ten rebounds. Townes and Rich popped for 12 points each while Self added 10.
Freshman Keyonze Chavis led Collegiate in scoring with 16 points, 11 in the first half when the Oaks sprinted to a big lead before Frankston responded, making it just 36-28 at the half.

The Oaks are now 9-2 on the season and this week were ranked 10th in the area by The Virginian-Pilot.

They play at 7 p.m. Saturday at home against rival Norfolk Academy.

FRANKSTON: Medwin 2, Van Dort 4, Howey 2, Tranter 6, Potter 3, J.Rouse 13, Z.Rouse 7, Smith 9. Totals 18 5-9 46.

NORFOLK COLLEGIATE (9-2): Glover 2, Grant 9, Rich 12, Townes 12, Self 10, Thomas 2, Chavis 16. Totals 26 8-9 63.
