Friday Matinee Special: Oaks Down Fork Union

DSC_3778 The Oaks, down by three entering the final quarter, wore down visiting Fork Union to run away with a 65-53 triumph during a Friday matinee before a packed Treehouse.

Adam Grant popped in eight of his 12 points in the final stanza as Collegiate outscored Fork Union 22-7 to cruise to victory in what was a hard-fought game throughout.

Freshman Bash Townes led the Oaks with 19 points while senior Brandon Self had his fourth straight double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. The Oaks were monsters on the boards, getting repeated second-chance points.

The game followed a pep rally and preceded a Seniors vs. Teachers Smackdown as well as two girls basketball contests so the gym was full, testimony to a renewed school spirit.
