Big Friday at Oakville: Varsity Hoops, Teacher Follies

DSC_1883Friday offers the best of both worlds for Norfolk Collegiate fans: a chance to see great athletes compete and a chance to see teachers try to relive the good old days.

First, there’s a middle school pep rally at 1 p.m. followed by a matinee game featuring the up-and-coming boys varsity basketball team against Fork Union Military Academy at 1:30. Don’t miss it. You need to see these guys play.

Once the varsity game is finished, the Collegiate seniors will take the court against a rag-tag team of teachers. That’s right, teachers. Don’t miss this first Teachers vs. Seniors Smackdown at about 3:30. Heckling encouraged.

But that’s just the beginning of the hard court action. At 5:30 the JV girls basketball team plays Tabb High School followed by the varsity girls basketball game at 7 p.m. Wear  your blue and white and save your voice for a compelling quadrupleheader.
