Varsity, JV Girls Volleyball Claim Wins
The Oaks girls varsity volleyball team turned Senior Night into an inspiring success last week winning the fifth set of their match with Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School, 15-13, to claim a 3-2 win.
Norfolk Collegiate won the first two sets only to drop the next two to set up the dramatic final set. Taylor DeFord took control of the squad, setting the ball again and again. Alexis White was a tower on defense. Brianna Mitchell and Kiva Adams made some key spikes while Peyton Fancher contributed a strong all-around game.
In the JV match, the girls team won 3-0, 25-19, 25-17, and 15-9. Alexandra Cook was a stalwart hitter while Jordan Dobrinsky and Bailey Jones served well, helping lead the victory.
