Boys Open Season Spiking Granby Classic

For the second consecutive year, the boys varsity volleyball team opened their season with an exclamation point, trouncing four opponents to capture the Granby Classic tournament Saturday.

Led by Sean Peterson, the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, the team defeated Maury in the finals 25-17 and 25-21. The squad did not drop a game during their march to the title, earlier defeating Tallwood, Bayside, and Norview.

Vince Thomas and Teddy Rich joined Peterson on the All-Tournament team.

The team plays again Tuesday at Landstown High School.
